Synopsis: From the outer reaches of space to the small-town streets of suburbia, the hunt comes home. The universe’s most lethal hunters are stronger, smarter and deadlier than ever before, having genetically upgraded themselves with DNA from other species. When a boy accidentally triggers their return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and an evolutionary biologist can prevent the end of the human race.

My Thoughts & Recommendation: To be quite honest, I was not eager to see this film, like, at all. I had to actually drag myself to the theater for your benefit (of a review), and I’m glad I did. I thought it was going to be some weird sci-fi film with blood and weird experiments and, I don’t really know. And yes, there was some testing done on one and lots – I mean LOTS of blood and gore – but it also had this interesting government conspiracy theory surrounding it, tons of action, and even comedy! The comedic parts were truly funny. Kind of stupid funny and bad language funny, but funny nonetheless. What else do you expect when military personnel are involved? There’s even camaraderie which is always nice to see and kind of expected at a certain point (to save mankind and all that). And what I really liked was how they brought the kid’s “disability” into the story, though I will say he kind of goes in and out of that kind of character at times. That was a little disappointing, but his involvement was quite interesting. If you can’t handle lots of gruesome deaths with lots of blood (it truly is epic the way some of these people die), or you can’t handle foul language, then this probably isn’t the movie for you. If you like action, like I do, I’d recommend you see this movie. It kind of has a Die Hard vibe to it.

My Rating: 4/5
