Synopsis: From girls playing in the attic to women living with purpose, the March sisters — Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy — are always committed to supporting one another. When Jo moves to New York to pen a novel, her editor challenges her to write about something much more interesting — her family. When tragedy brings the siblings back home, sticking together takes on a whole new meaning as Jo tries to comfort Beth when she gets sick.
My Thoughts & Recommendation: I’d like to first start off by saying I have never read the book or the other movie renditions of it. All I knew is that it was about the March Sisters and they had a club and whatever I got from the trailers. That being said, it was an incredibly sweet movie. That Jo March has quite a personality and is quick to react (as opposed to being cool-headed and thinking before saying or doing something like two of her other sisters). But she also has a big heart, one which helped her make friends and allowed her to be brave so she could follow her dreams. I will admit that the movie can get a little slow at times and the timeline jumps around a lot, but it helps to explain the beautiful intricacies of the March family. Admittedly, I am not one to cry in movies, but I cried in this one. Twice! I would absolutely recommend this to anybody who loves movies about love, ambition, and family. And definitely bring a pack of tissues with you to the theater. You might need them.
My Rating: 4.5/5
